What’s Growing in Your Yard?

Published by shesue at 12:52 am under Just Plain Odd Edit This

With garden time right around the corner, I am always looking for unique flowers and plants.  I am working on a natural setting in my large backyard.  The plants below are just a little too odd for me.  How about you?

How about some blueberries?  Sure, except with pink stems?

How about a strawberry, I think.

This is a fruit from Australia.

This is a common thistle, kinda scary looking huh.

This has to be the weirdest of flowers from borneo.  The rafflesia which only blooms for about a week.

Do you know where this plant is from?  Kind of looks like it’s been in a whirlpool.

These are snake heads.  Or at least they look like white snakes.

If you like roots, this thing is for you.  Or maybe the roots didn’t like the dirt.  No idea.

Need a little music in your garden.  Here is a fiddle head fern.

When you need a little protection, the plant climbing up this trunk would scare off most.

Can’t decide if you want a plant or a pet?  Now you can combine both with a monkey tree.

And finally, let’s wrap this up.  Don’t know what this plant is, but to me it looks like a nicely wrapped package with a beautiful bow on top.
